Respectfully and kindly:
If you are a person who gets uncomfortable discussing issues of
mortality, no fault/no shame, just please delete and ignore this
thread.  Thank you.

We need "torch bearers."
The realists among us know there are some reading this thread who will
not be with us by the holidays.  Many of us are the caretakers of
authentically Unique and Rare items.  If we do not take steps to
preserve these and their history beyond our appointed hour, most will be
lost forever.

There are Seven Billion people in the world.  Somewhere, there are a few
people under 50 who have a genuine interest and passion for this
equipment and its history, who can carry what we have learned and what
we have preserved into the future.   They will be human and prone to
err, but they will do their best and they will suffice if we prepare and
inform them.
Neglecting to do this means all our efforts fade out of the world when
we do.  I'm preparing a manuscript outlining the history of our Command
Sets and defining what is and is not "rare."  Many similar for other
systems and sets should be written.

We need to find these "torch bearers;" someone worthy to inherit unique
and rare sets.   If you know someone who might be a candidate, we need
to hear about him.
