Well, I read a news item on the Internet saying they were putting such LO detection devices in highway billboards in California.  I would guess since they are only interested in a limited number of LO frequencies to detect it would be possible.  I wonder if FM radio LO's are as easy to detect as are BCB AM radio LO's?
