[ARC5] BC 453 request

Hi Mike,

I think you are right on the mark. The fellow who is looking for that
part has a better chance of finding it if he uses the right 'label'. For
people like me who are less concerned we can refer to our casual
playtoys as "command receivers". I just called them ARC5 before I became
aware there are differences.

I have some of the R-23 type and one of the BC-453 type (and a couple of
others). I have used one of those as a Q5er but to be accurate I do not
have Q5ers any more. I use one of them on the new 630 meter band and for
NDB hunting. I do rotate them in and out of the action to avoid
"shelf-rot". There is no Q5er function involved. My other radios do not
require the assistance of a command receiver:) None of my toys are
pristine, original examples but also not hacked beyond recognition.

They are all fun to play with. Enjoy.

73,

Bill KU8H
