I have a small (3.5 x 6 x 1.375 inches) L/C meter that is quite handy. I've had it for several years. Mfr is MingHe and model number is LC200A. For R measurements I use a Fluke 77.

I can back up what Mike Hanz said about the DE5000. I've used one for 3 or 4 years now to check components that I sell on ebay. It's much more accurate for low value resistance (below one ohm) than a typical VOM. I just checked a couple of Silver Mica Caps that were 2 pf +/- 1/2pf and they both checked at 2.0. I most like the feature that automatically detects the component you're testing. As they say, "Plug and Play". If mine quit today I'd buy another one. It's so easy even my wife can use it, and often does, she does most of the ebay shipping. :-)
