[ARC5] CRC-7

I have a couple of CRC-7 emergency radios and given their brass construction I assumed that they were lifeboat items.

But I was just looking at the B-36J flight manual and the CRC-7 is listed as a communication item there. The manual is dated 1953, and by that time the URC-4 had already seen action in Korea, so I guess that the CRC-7 is a hold over from earlier aircraft.

The CRC-7's I have are rather banged up and I guess I'll have to figure out how top take the dents out of the cases as well as how to get them open so I could see if they will fire up. Unlike the URC-4, the set uses miniature tubes rather than subminiature.

The ARC-21X is listed as the liaison radio for the B-36 but they do briefly mention the ARC-8. The ARC-3 and ARC-27 are command radios. The ARN-6 is the ADF and ARN-14 and ARN-18 are navigation. The APR-4 and APR-9 are also listed as ECM assets.
