That's true, where only their dissipation in free air is concerned, which
is the condition approached in solid state equipment. But we're trying to
use them in tube equipment which produces vast amounts of unexpelled heat.
These modern resistors are not designed for such an environment. Don't
skimp. Consider fitting a wattage rating higher than the original.
