Howdy, Ken.
Haven't worked on one of these.
Is there an alternate tie-point, where you can disconnect
the bad boy and solder-in a replacement? For instance-
The TCS receiver has a bathtub cap mounted behind the MO-XTAL
switch and is impossible to change without tedious dismantling
and serious risk of destroying the switch. Fortunately, the
wires from that cap run to nearby and easy-to-reach tube sockets
and tie points, where one can clip the wire to the bad cap and
solder a replacement from the tie-point to ground. Has the
advantage of keeping the original part "original," just not
connected.
