Hello ,
I have an original BC950 VHF Transmitter as part of my SCR-274 System.
Sorry but a matching VHF receiver BC-942 was not available, I had to use
a R28/ARC-5 instead.
The difference between the T-23 and the BC-950 is the way both
transmitters are modulated. The BC-456 Modulator of the SCR-274 system
was used to modulate the screen grid
and did not have enough power to plate modulate the 832 tubes used in
the BC-950. The solution was to add a Modulation stage inside the BC-950
with a 815 dual tetrode to up the modulation.
Otherwise both transmitters are identical in design electrically.
I made a schematic of the modulation circuit in the BC-950 and try to
attach it.
I demonstrated this system at several Ham Club meetings in Colorado with
very good results. I included the different Nav system used by the
Luftwaffe, Royal Air-force and the American Army Air-corps
in the Pacific Theater, the AN/ARR-1 and R-4/ARR-2 are part of my system.
I owe a completer Manual on the ATA/ARA system and will try to scan it
in and upload to the Bama site. It will take some time.

Regards
Peter
