A cover is essential in order to do a grand unveiling when friends come
over. It serves no other purpose. One must carefully preheat the
filaments to their lovely full glow, open the cover with a flourish, and
finish with a dramatic reading of TO 08-10-139. Replace the cover at the
end with a dour expression and a hint of sadness in your voice.
