Craig, several years ago I placed all the documentation I have on the
command set _test_ equipment on my website. There are two links - one
describing the complete series from the 7918 and 9558 "five meter" sets
you asked about to the last one, the I-104-A at
http://aafradio.org/docs/Command_Set_Test.html
and a second link that focuses on the I-84-A and I-85-A employment, with
schematics of both at
http://aafradio.org/docs/ARC_Test_Sets.html
KK5F correctly stated that dynamotor maintenance instructions are
included in the maintenance manuals for the command sets, but there is
not a lot of why they say to do this or that. FWIW, I wrote an article
for Electric Radio on general dynamotor refurbishment (which I have
expanded considerably over the years), located at
http://aafradio.org/docs/Dynamotors.html
that may be helpful. I recently added a new dynamotor bearing lubricant
recommendation to it for those always seeking the latest and greatest
for these old sets.
