Hello Rich,

You may want to reconsider quitting the 3-stall receiver rack.

As you plan to keep and use your BC-453, BC-454 and BC-455, the rack
provides the easiest way of powering them. What plug-ins are in the front
pockets of these receivers? If they have the FT-310, like your BC-946B, then
you don't need the remote control. You can make up cord sockets to short the
DC connectors to plug into the rear box of the rack, or by internal wiring;
such switching would normally be done via the CW - OFF - MCW remote control.

The BC-946 was used for navigation purposes with the ARR-2. The 237 kHz IF
is really too narrow for listening to the BCB (unless all you want to audit
are the chat shows); to enjoy music, broaden the IF passband, eg, you can
add a resistor across each coil.

Give my best wishes to Ken. Good bloke.

As you plan to acquire 80 m and 40 m transmitters, if they are of the
SCR-274N family, I have the complete back box of the 2-stall transmitter
rack up on eBay presently.

Cheers es 73 de Brian, VK2GCE.

The BC-946Bravo I have listed has a FT-310 adapter attached. There has been
some interest in this receiver and provided it finds a new home the
unmodified rack w/remote tuning panels I have will be up for grabs, also.
