Although I would tend to agree with you, nonetheless, the cover plate DOES list glass 
versions of the tubes, as in GT/G types, as appropriate to the unit.

As I remember it, a long time ago, I had at least one NIB "ARC-5" receiver which had at 
least one glass tube in it, and mine was also in the original box. When I sold it on eBay, I 
was also questioned about that.

Even so, I believe that $295 is too much for even that.
