[ARC5] Fwd: T23 tuning tool

 This may be a bit naive, but would this lend itself to a 3d printed, custom built tool?  It may very well be too small for a hobby printer to print.
Just a thought,JohnK5ENQ

  Neil;
 I used a long nosed pair of pliers to kind of "squeegile" the tube on. The beauty of using tubing is that it's easy to makeseveral and then you can adjust all of them with out moving the tool.

Thank you for that suggestion John. Perhaps using a toaster to warm the tubing would help it slide onto the shaft, wait for it to cool, then rotate. I'll keep this in mind. On taking another look, I've found that the turret holes are all the same size, so if the socket fits one it should fit all. The problem is that the gear teeth are coarse enough to allow a misalignment of some slugs when one or two are properly aligned. The original W.E. tool was presumably thin enough to cope, but my socket is too large in the shank. A last resort solution might be to adjust the ones that the socket fits, then rotate the turret by hand a fraction to permit adjusting the others, taking care not to step the turret off that band's contacts.

 Neil;
  I found some somewhat stiff clear plastic tubing that fit snug on the hex shafts. I cut the tubing into short lengthssuch that I could tune the rig with the cover on.

 Anyone tuned up a T23/ARC-5 transmitter? What did you use to tune the slugs? I found that a 3/16" socket fits the brass hex shafts on a couple of the slugs. On the remaining slugs, the shank of the socket is too thick to enter the hole in the turret mounting bracket and the socket won't engage with the shafts. A clock-winding key might work, but I'm doubtful of finding one with a hex end. Looking for suggestions or even the offer of the proper W.E. tool.
