[ARC5] OT: Stamps?

 Hi Dave -

I don't and I do, which sounds like it makes no sense.

Though I have a bunch of old postage stamps including an album that was my
dad's or grandfather's, I never set out to collect them and keep them only
as family heirlooms. A former co-worker of my mother also gave me a pile of
unused 50s-60s stamps years ago, Gemini capsule, Eisenhower, etc. Perhaps
when my daughter gets a little older, she will be interested in them. They
are definitely intriguing.

I *do* collect Ekko, Bryant, and other radio reception stamps sent out by
broadcast stations back in the 20s. Even have an original album which I'm
(slooowly) attempting to complete. Sometimes these stamps were sent along
with a confirmation letter, other times they were actually affixed to their
own QSL card. They have the station call letters printed on them.

Radio 'poster' stamps are another facet. They generally promoted an event,
product, or radio program.

These non-postage type stamps are referred to as Cinderellas.

That's my 2 cent stamp's worth. (o:
