AND (if you can find a defunct dynamotor) you should be able to build a
small "doghouse" to cover the connector using 4 of the 6 small holes in
the dynamotor base!

No. I use this:

This is the base off a defunct dynamotor.

Remember that there will be up to +250 VDC on the 7 pin connector on the back, though.
