The thing about used or even NOS vibrators is that they are pretty much all no good due to age.Apparently, the internal rubber out gasses as it deteriorates and the gas oxidizes the contacts!
However there was ONE occasion when I opened a NOS hermetically sealed vibrator package and the thing worked. I guess there is always hope. The rest of them needed to be restored. I think solid state is the way to go for improved reliability.I built a couple using a cmos mulivibrator and mosfets. They work great. The synchronous contacts can be replaced with rectifier diodes ( with polarity as needed by the circuit)
