I?m massively behind on emails again.

There are no ?official? tuning charts for the ATA/SCR-274N/ARC-5 transmitters.

Installation aircraft varied a lot. Many of our members have developed

their own solutions for loading the 5-12 Ohm output of a Command Set

transmitter into a ham-typical 50-Ohm load.

Mine is to use a fixed series capacitor from the antenna post to the

center conductor of your coax- 100 pFd for 80M, 50 pFd for 40M.

Don?t remember what worked best on 160M but 500 pFd comes to mind.

I have bought these and similar:

Cheap and they work well. Do not buy the Chinese blue ceramics.

They are worthless junk. Silver micas also seem to heat and eat power.

Shop around because some of these high-Volt caps are

stupid expensive.

Agree.? The only "tuning chart" I'm aware of is Table 6-5 in the
AN/ARC-5 manual, but it assumes you are connected to the 5 ohm 100pF
dummy load.? The Antenna Inductance and Antenna Coupling control
settings would be different for a real antenna.
