Remember these Command Sets were not really designed for CW operation.

Thanks guys lots of options I will check into the modulator to see what taps are set on T-50. A resistor or pot mounted somewhere inside the modulator might be a good option. Yes the last thing I want to do is mod these rigs I received them in stock form, and want to keep them that way. Just recently picked up a T-17 mic which of course was dead dead. I replaced the element with a T-1 element soldered a new .01 cap on the back boy did that thing come alive having lots of fun with these old sets.

Just as a point of interest,

I have an RCAF BC-456 which has been modified
with both a sidetone level pot, and a microphone
level pot. The modification tag on the side shows
  B!,B2, and 3.

Which leads me to wonder if anyone has ever
put together a complete, all RCAF SCR-274N system, or for
that matter a complete Colonial made SCR-274N system?
