I measured the HFO plate voltage with the 250 Volt supply...actually, 236.8 VDC from my 
home-brew power supply.

In other words, with the 250 VDC from the dynamotor applied to the receiver's +HV 
connection, the HFO is operating on a plate voltage of very close to 30 VDC.

And, furthermore, so is the BFO.

I suspect the HFO is operating at such a low voltage in order to keep drift to a minumum.
