Yep, I agree, mine is trying to pass for unaffected but it is shrunken. Your website with all the dimensions, etc., is a good idea. I'll likely one day reference it again as I have 2 or 3 chassis with empty windows.

Mike's scan shows 3 inches long dimension for the plastic bit. Mine measures 2 & 13/16 inches. I note that the window in the metal part is slightly wider than this, leaving a narrow air gap at either end. Distance between the outer hashmarks on the plastic are 2 & 7/16 inches.
Perhaps mine has undergone some shrinkage in dimensions?
It apparently has, Wayne. There is about .020" shrinkage in the top dimension of mine as well (though not the bottom dimension, which is still 3.00"). You can see a slight bowing in the color photo. But the length of the aluminum retention rails before the crimps is also 3.00", suggesting that the original length is pretty close to that.
It could be worse. I have an example here that has shrunk to 2.56" OAL and is a much darker brown color. The crimped top and bottom rails apparently kept the vertical dimension less reduced. Somewhere in the stacks there is one that is about 2" in length and looks like a shriveled brown potato chip, but I wasn't able to find it quickly. It would be a good lead for the web page on the subject, so I'll try to find it soon.
