[ARC5] 500 kc crystal needed

You don't even need a programmable oscillator  You can get an off-the-shelf 500 KHZ oscillator module for maybe $5.  Four pins, 5VDC in and 500 KHZ out.  I used a 1 MHZ version to feed the harmonic oscillator calibrator circuit in an SG-297. Worked great!
