I did too, Bill and like Humpty Dumpty...they never went back together 
again!   I know they have an aluminum diaphragm connected to a crystal 
of some kind, most likely a cheap ceramic like a ceramic phono cartridge 
with a diaphragm attached to the stylus. Since it was Remco you know hit 
was CHEAP!    Still had a lot of fun playing "can you hear me now" with 
my play-Army buddies and remember many sliced fingers from trying to 
twist that horrible steel wire together after on of the enemy army kids 
snuck up with a pair of wirecutters.
