Hello Tim,
The Maximum Power Transfer, or Jacobi theorem ensures that 50% of the power is dissipated in the transmitter and 50% in the load. What we really want is for the TCS to emulate extremely low output impedance, as in mains power distribution, where the main aim is maximum power to the load.
