There actually is an official USN adapter for TCS to 50 ohms.

CU-837/URC.

----------

Yes; this is the unit I simulated with the “Capacitive Divider”

configuration in the tests last evening. 3890 KC, series 270 pFd,

shunt from 50-Ohm side to ground of 1350 pFd.

The CU did indeed provide the most power to the 50-Ohm Load; about

10% more than the series capacitor, but at the price of much lower

efficiency. The CU-837 configuration delivered 44W at 104W DC Plate

input, leaving 60W to toast marshmallows or something.

The series capacitor delivered 40W to the load at 65W DC Plate

input, leaving 25W behind. That’s more like I would expect

for a tube transmitter.

Very interested in seeing how Brian’s solution works. I’ll be

uploading the TCS and ARC-2 output circuit information

in the next day or two; tonight, I go to watch my brilliant

daughter, Amber, get her first college degree on the road

to her dream of Astrophysics. Amber solves Differential

Equations for fun.  She sure didn’t get it from me;

I can barely balance a checkbook.
