Isn't it interesting how they just show up like that. Kind of like stray dogs and cats. Hi hi

Subject:[ARC5] Information wanted, R-13 receiver

An R-13 receiver showed up in the shack, and is

playing nicely. This is a VHF set, that still shows its

WWII heritage. Black wrinkle, dial, and front panel

"cup" for the local or remote control adapter. It

has loctal tubes, so is an intermediate

step towards the grey, dial-less R-13B used later in the Type 15

and AN/ARN-30 families. This R-13 receiver has a 1948 date

on the back panel.

Does anyone have any documentation on this vintage

(1948) set, either specifically for the receiver or the

system it was a part of? I do have manuals for the

later grey sets.

It was not at all hard to figure this set out, there are a lot

of similarities to the R-112/ARC-5 shown on Mike's web

site, and the later R-13B.

Thanks

Jack Antonio
