The BC-639, and SCR-522/BC-640 etc. was used in ground based SCR-567,
etc.for DF and fighter direction. Looking at the freq. card, looks to
me that they used the method whereby the aircraft transmits on a common
HF freq. and receives on the published LF setting., Not unlike what was
used for a long time in the US for general aviation. That is, there
were two tower common freqs. and you listened on the appropriate LF/MF
range frequency, etc. Later, transmit on a standard FSS or tower freq.
(VHF) and listen on the local VOR frequency.
