I'd use some appropriate sized brass tubing and then insert and glue them to a piece of phenolic with appropriate holes drilled.  Aircraft Spruce has phenolic sheets in sizes starting at 6 in by 6 in and in thicknesses up to 0.75 in.  They have nylon plate up to 1 inch thickness; that should work as well.
