Yes, white vinegar is dilute acetic acid and will neutralize any alkaline leakage from cells.
I use a diluted “glacial” form as it is cleaner, and most importantly I have it on hand from when I did darkroom photography. You can still buy it, 100ml is $7.50 shipped on eBay, which is a lifetime supply. Careful though, it’s strong stuff.
