Hi Guys

I received an interesting email from a ham that has some “ARC-5” stuff and
wanted to know if I would build his system for him, or knew of anyone that
would.

He has a pair of BC-456 modulators (unknown if they have dynamotors), but
from the HB PS I would suspect the answer is no. He has a BC-696 and a
T-22, both are in an FT-226A rack. Huh? Upon closer inspection, the T-22
sticks out from the front of the 696 a bit, which suggests some buggery in
the rear connector on the T-22, 226A, or both.

Both antenna relays are missing, and one antenna connector has been
replaced by an SO-239. Odds are the internal select relays are gone too,
but I have no internal pictures. Only the Shadow knows what lurks
inside.....

He also has the pilot's control box and the antenna relay.

Anyway, I discussed his “mix and match” system, what might be wrong with
them, the cables that would be required etc. I told him I would not be
interested in building if for him as I work full time (and truth be told
I'm not interested period.....) and I doubted if anyone would be willing to
do it for free. But, I said I'd ask for him.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll pass along contact info.

I asked him what he was going to do with the system once it was built.
Driving ARC-5's on the air, either AM or CW, ain't for everyone.....
