[ARC5] Batteries That Do Not Corrode?

I stopped buying Kirkland batteries because they sit on the warehouse shelves too long and loose their charge too quickly. I recommend buying batteries from high turnover retailers like Walmart. Batteries do not like to sit in a warehouse too long waiting to be used.

I might try the Panasonic batteries or see if Radio Shack still sells their custom ones. BTW, Radio Shack is not dead yet. I still buy from them online and they have some good deals.

I don't think Costco is selling their house brand at the moment but do have the new Duracells. My leaky Kirkland AA cells had the same two little dimples on the negative end. Check yours and see.

If they have solved this and are back to their old quality they would be fine. But, any Kirkland or Duracell AA and AAA cells made up to maybe a year ago should be dumped or taken back for a refund.

To date, I have never found any non-rechargeable A, C, D, AA, or AAA cell that does not corrode. I have batteries, unused, from Costco, under their and regular known brands, that expire post-2000 yet are already exhibiting corrossion, still in their packages. So far, my bunch of Panasonics are OK.
