Hello,

I have a document entitled:

Fundamental Principles of

Vibrator Power Supply Design

Compiled and Published by

P.R. Mallory & Co., Inc.

Indianapolis 6, Indiana

March 1947

The file name is mallory_vibe.pdf and it is 13.6 Mb in size with 129 pages.

It mentions that the “typical frequency” is 125 cps, and in the transformer design section it mentions that the 2500 series operates at 250 cycles. That section tells about 6 volt vibrators operating at 6 and 8 volts and frequency of 113 and 116 cycles respectively.

I can send this thing to anyone interested, but a Google search finds it at:

www.tubebooks.org/Books/mallory_vibe.pdf <http://www.tubebooks.org/Books/mallory_vibe.pdf>

(I own one of the Mallory “Vibrapack” supplies illustrated but it’s not available to me just now.)

You misinterpreted. I was referring to a standard vibrator supply. My post referred to what is meant by a vibrator operating at 100-120 Hz. If it means transitions from side to side 100-120 times per second, that is equivalent to 50-60 Hz at the transformer secondary….

You unplug the vibrator and apply the AC directly to the transformer primary. No vibrator in the circuit anywhere!...

Are we talking about 100-120 transitions per second, which would be 50-60 Hz at the secondary winding?
