Sounds like its for one of the Type 12 VHF receivers. Those had solder type connections, vice plug-in.

I have a ARC branded transformer marked 12198 15MC-4.
It is 1.25" square and 2.5" tall with a screw on top cover covering the
two adjustment screws.
It has 6 solder terminals.
Any idea what it fits?
Any one need it?
