[ARC5] Quieting A DC/DC Converter

I bought a couple of the little DC/DC units noted by Dave Stinson. One arrived without the HV diode installed, the second unit does work but I noted that the output has a 8 Volt P to P sawtooth waveform on the top of the DC at around 8-11 Hz. Test was unloaded and will see what happens with a load and perhaps a small post filter cap. Will also do a spectrum test with my HP Selective VM to test for higher frequency products. Great value if you can clean up the DC signal.

Needed a 140V supply for the AR8 receiver, so put
one of these DC/DC things in a very expensive box.
Line filters in and out. Don't have the
feed-through caps yet so some birdies leaking by,
but ferrites on the leads knocked them way down.
Clean on MF and 160-75-40, some light hash above
about 15 MC. We'll see how it goes with the
feedthrus.
