I am restoring a moderately-hacked A.R.C. Type 15 receiver, 108-135
mc. This looks quite similar to the SCR-274N and AN/ARC-5 receivers from
WW II but is a postwar version of the R-112/113/ARC-5 receivers produced
in prototype quantities at the end of the war.
I need (1) the small sheet-aluminum enclosure at the front of the
receiver into which the MX-19, MX-20, MX-21/ARC-5 adapters plugs. Not
the adapter or the C-24 local control itself, but the receptacle inside
the receiver with a male plug into which the adapter plugs
(2) the sheet aluminum tube enclosure that goes over the IF cans
and the tubes. Black wrinkle preferred.
(3) the lid that goes on top of the tube enclosure.
(4) the tubes or a source for the tubes. Four are the loctal type:
2 each 14R7 and one each 14A7, 14F7 and one the old 12A6. Does Fair
Radio still have these?
I have a few minor Command Set parts to trade including a couple of
ARC-5 transmitter crystals, a 239 KC BFO can, a .22/.22 mfd capacitor,
in original spare parts box and two 2830 kc IF cans, one in the original
spare parts box and one loose and dirty. (Most of the other small parts
I had have gone to good homes among members of this group.)
I have a somewhat hacked front end unit for this same series
receiver without the four peanut tubes and the cover for the tuned circuits.
I have a few junction and control boxes for the RU and GF units.
I also have most of the A.R.C. manuals for equipment made between
1934 and 1952 and can make copies.
Or - cash.
