Ok, I stand corrected.... the early version had 60 Hz.  The Y was 400 to 1000 Hz?K3HVG

The original APR-4 came out in WWII and used octal
tube technology for the base IF unit.  The APR-4Y was the Korean War
version and used miniature tubes; the schematic I have is dated 1950.  The
APR-4 would run on 60 cycle as well as 400 HZ but the APR-4Y was 400 HZ
only.
 
I have an APR-4Y in which someone removed the power
supply entirely.  One day when I'm not tied up fixing hurricane damage I
might even get around to building a power supply for it.
