[ARC5] Glass or Metal Tubes Preferred for Receivers?

Just for esthetics,  I prefer glass tubes in my
rigs.  However, there are some sets in which the
shielding provided by the metal tubes is
necessary.  For example:  glass tubes do not work
in the WW2 Collins AN/ARC-2 aircraft transceiver.
Glass tubes will result in receiver interstage
oscillations.
