[ARC5] What is in this photo?

Here is a guess, perhaps it is an audio sweep generator?

Motor driven capacitor, low RF frequency coil with band switch,

Sweep oscillator mixes with fixed oscillator to produce audio output.

This looks like early or pre WWII vintage equipment. I know B&K made a lot of test

equipment such as transfer oscillators, various pieces of heterodyne audio test equipment.

Have some that I need to dispose of. There is a connector on front panel that looks

like something B&K used but I have only seen this sort of gear packaged in wooden

cases.  One end of the motor drives a cam, looks like a sprocket but it has what may be

a set of contacts that are actuated by it. That would produce tick marks on a graph paper on

plotter. There may be a sprocket on front panel that is used to drive paper of a plotter.

GR and B&K had made some instruments that operated in that fashion with a chain link.

However, I don't see a capacitor connected to the drive train.

Ok, this is interesting.

It clearly on the side has instructions in English not to expose it to a radiator or Sun.

Are we sure it is Chinese? It also looks like it has a metal 6L6 type tube.
