Anyone who is going to attempt the capacitor
change in the ARC-2 IF stages: Be very careful
and use only the heat required. The ARC-2 uses a
lot of shielded cables and the center insulation
is VERY easy to melt. In the cramped quarters,
melting and shorting a cable is too darn easy to
do.

Also- where the ARC-2 uses metal tubes (almost
all), do not sub glass. They use the metal shell
for shielding and you will get feedback in the IF
with glass tubes. The only glass in there, IIRC,
is two dual triodes like 6SL7.
