[ARC5] Coffee - bad?

Are you sure they were roaches and not some other kind of bug?
Someone told me that roaches HATE coffee grinds. They said It could be used as a weak substitute for borax.
I dunno...
I found an infestation of "cabinet beatles" in a box of cereal once. It was disturbing to see all of these little black specks floating in the milk. It was even more disturbing after having eaten half the bowl before I noticed!!

But was a Govt. civ on a Navy UNITAS cruise, etc.  Rode DEs and subs and appreciate the Navy (especially) and the AF association with coffee, its use and proper prep.  Smells good and will have a cup sometimes w/ standard additives.....  I'll let you "coni-sewers" of the brew do the real talking, however. HI!K3HVG

I got yelled at by the mess cook chief when I cleaned out one of the coffee pots.  He instructed me to simply rinse with water because scrubbing disturb the flavor “patina” that was developing.   Never cleaned it out again, no scrubbing, no soap, just rinsing occasionally to flush the grinds out.   What did I know… I was 18, didn’t drink coffee, and knew jack squat :)  73, Scott WA9WFA
