[ARC5] Coffee - bad?

At the risk of getting yelled at, I have a Navy coffee story too. I was a Radioman in the Navy during Viet Nam from 71-73, serving on ships my whole time.
One night on Radio watch it was my turn to make coffee. The pot was one of those monstrously large Navy coffee pots. The coffee grounds came in these large rectangular metal containers. Might have been 20 pound of coffee. I dump the old grounds, pour in the new grounds. Now this is 3 AM in the morning so I’m very bleary-eyed but I swear the coffee grounds were moving. Upon closer inspection, they were. The coffee was contaminated with Roaches. The entire coffee ground basket was moving.
No spare coffee can so I notified the grizzly Chief on Duty. He told me to plug it in… I did, and I percolated the coffee + roaches. The Chief was the first guy in line for coffee when it was done. Yuck….
By the way, I can only drink Decaffeinated for health reasons, and I found that I can make a fabulous tasting decaf Americano with my Rancilio Silvia espresso machine, grinding freshly roasted “Espresso Gold Decaf” beans from Alakef Roasters in Duluth MN.
