[ARC5] Adventures with a "coil kebob"

I never found the article about the mod for the 1415KHZ IF, so I decided to jump into it anyway.The way it's constructed reminds me of a shish kebob
Pulled out the 1st IF and moved the bottom coil down to the bottom. The bottom ceramic spacer can't be swapped to the the top because the ID is only large enough for the bolt . There is an insulating tube goes through the Ferrites so i had to find a 9mm spacer that would fit to make the coils an additional 9mm apart.
I *think* it about doubled the Q.
The coils peaked at about 1450Khz out of circuit , but peaked at another position in the radio .However , the overall RF gain appears to be reduced . Maybe 9mm is too much?
Don't have a lot of instrumentation here at home , so I can't give much more than this observation .I want to play with this on a spectrum analyzer.
