[ARC5] B-29 "FIFI" Needs ART-13 Operators - Time Critical

On October 7th, the CAF will present a major air show in the Dallas area.

The B-29 bomber, "FIFI" will be present.  They need operators who are 

competent with the ART-13 / BC-348 to run FIFI's radio from the bomber

for a special event station.

 

We're looking for two and preferably more people who can do this,

and time is short.  

First:  An operator must absolutely know how to operate an ART-13 and

BC-348.  It's not a "Barbie" radio- it won't do things for you  ;-).  

If someone blows their rigs up, I don't expect they'll offer the chance
again.

 

Second, and far more important:  A person must be willing to absolutely

150% commit to be there, 0900-1500 hrs on Oct. 7th.   Anyone who says 

they will come and then "no-shows" for any reason will do irreparable

harm to our relationships with the CAF, which are always fragile.

They can't pay expenses but the chance to be Radio Op on FIFI

should be pretty good stuff.  If there are licensing issues, we

can run the station under a "control op" license like Field Day.

 

If you are comfortable with running the ART-13/BC-348 and can 150%

commit to get to Dallas the morning of Oct. 7th, you'll join a very

elite club of FiFi Radio Ops.  If so, please contact me off-list and

I will get you in touch with the gentleman seeking operators.
