Hmmmm?   Maybe I, too, should look for a good ATD and get it on the air.  All the ART-13s here are fine but it might be nice to try something entirely new.50 watts is not exactly high power but why the heck not....?Jeep K3HVG

The ATD puts out 40 -50 watts  both on AM and CW. I use the Navy RS-38 type carbon mike with it and I got good audio reports. By the way I run both the ATD and the ARB from 28 VDC as both have the original dynamotors, which are surprisingly quiet.

The ARB is indeed a bit broad in sekectivity. Since I mostly work CW, I added an external dual active audio filter that plugs in the audio output of the receiver  and  the earphones are fed from the filter. It works wonders when the band is crowded.

I also run an LM-13 via the power output connector on the ARB front panel. It is a great aid to put the setup on frequency for nets and I also use it for sidetone on CW.

I have an operational ATD/ARB combo I use once in a while. Time to start thinking about an antenna for 630 m. I hope I'll receive no letter from UTC the next couple of weeks...
