Hi

It’s certainly easier to do with modern FET’s and modern analytic techniques than it
was back in the days of germanium devices with Ft’s measured in KHz  and questionable
specs on a variety of parameters …. Early (50’s and 60’s) solid state ignition designs suffered 
from a lot of the same sort of issues.
