I suspect the right thing to do is to to sliding electrical contacts is to apply a very small amount of electrically conductive, anti- seize lubricant such as"

Hi Guys

I have my BC-456B out of the SCR-274N rack for servicing.  I noted that one of the plugs (which mates to J-54) was quite difficult to remove.

Not wanting to damage the flanges on the pins in the future, is it advisable to hit the pins with a wee bit of DeOxit before reassembly?

You're probably aware of it Mark, but just in case - I'd be leery of using DeOxit around the insulator portion of the plugs. No idea if there's anything to worry about but I do know it has a bad effect on older phenolic wafer switches, causing them to swell and bind. It can usually be reversed with alcohol (phenolic before self) but better not to end up there in the first place. I learned this from a WWII-era SX-28A I worked on, it froze the band switch completely. Still turns hard today.

As Ken indicated, 'sparingly' is the word of the day here.
