mike.
i think i was there til 1977. we first visited there in maybe 1971? and my dad got a saturday only job right after that working for the owner , Murray Baum. the store was on warren st with another warehouse on leonard st. as i remember, lafayette radio was on the first floor and basement. the offices and showroom on the 2nd floor. shipping and receiving on the 3rd floor. tube storage on 5th floor

after we were there later on a ham , leon chall, from brooklyn, was there as a tech mainly working on apr4 radar receivers. i remember him tuning in the uhf tv stations on it. im sure he passed away but the fcc lookup will find his call

sometimes me and my brother would work there doing odd jobs like sorting unloading and stacking boxes and polishing and testing tubes. we usually got a $3 tip sometimes $5 for the day plus lunch and once in a while radios or parts
