The auction is for the control panel only for the late 1950s to mid-1960s A.R.C. Type 21 ADF. It is found commonly under JAN nomenclature as the C-2275/ARN for the R-836/ARN, plus dynamotor DY-150/ARN and other items all part of AN/ARN-59. It's a common set in surplus, and the control panel is worth about $25 US. This ADF was often installed on military helicopters of that era, u ncludind UH-1D models.

The receiver unit also shows up frequently with the commercial A.R.C. designation of R-30A. It's very small unit that uses all wired-in tubes except for a transister BFO. The tuning cable between the R-836 and the C-2275 is the same as that used for AN/ARC-5 receivers.
