[ARC5] BC-453B Osc. Coil slug

I'm still trying to get my dial calibration reading a little closer on my BC-453B. I don't seem to be making much progress. One of the problems is alignment at the low frequency (210 kc). The lowest I can get is 217 or so. I've measured capacitances and tried two other coil sets (courtesy of David Stinson, thanks Dave) and finally again got into the oscillator coil. I measured the inductance (150 uh) and adjusted it to 135 uh ( I went the wrong direction, my thinking was wrong), I tried re-alignment and discovered my error. But when I again tried to adjust the inductance (I have a Tek LC meter) the inductance was way low, something must have happened to the iron slug.

So, not wanting to tamper with the other coil sets, does anyone have a "spare" slug? Or maybe a suggestion for a coil slug material? With my LC meter I can adjust inductance very accurately.
