IIRC didn't someone on this list a few year back
say they knew where Ham Radio was archived?
Anyone remember?

Always excellent to hear from you, Art. I hope 2017 is
even better for you and Tasha.

I feel your pain :-D. Daughter #3 has hitched her wagon
to one about like that. He's a good-hearted young
man- polite, respectful, always a gentleman (ex-Marine)
and he seems to adore Amanda- but they're exactly
where they were a year and a half ago (barely existing)
and I see a decided lack of ambition in him; he may
turn-out to be the "perpetual student" who stays in school
until the very last drop of GI Bill money runs-out and
then starts living off student loans. It worries me.
"But Daddy, I LUUUUV him!" I'm sure you've heard
as well. "Baby, there are 3.5 BILLION men in the world.
Couldn't you love a doctor or an engineer??"
Bet you can guess how well that worked- LOL.
My father told me long ago:
"Son, for every 10,000 young men who tell you
all about the big things they're going to do with
their lives, only 1 or 2 do anything at all."

That's awesome and I know that song.

Seems a little "grand" for our efforts
(in fairness, we plebes can't exactly mount
a grand expedition, but we can do things that count-
it's just a matter of scale).
I think I understand the spirit he is trying to convey.
It's a noble goal in itself, for many reasons.
It's hard. It may not be possible. Most people
will talk and talk about it but never attempt it.
One might fail. But better to fail at challenging yourself
to do what the mundanes only prattle about
than succeed at something common.
Ask him how I did ;-)
Got to get ready for work.
Take care of yourself and Ms. T.
