Have you seen the dual-triode modification to the 12K8 which was developed back in 1970 
or so, and the information which I have here on it? I don't know whether or not I sent that to 
you. I think I have it as a PDF, but if I don't, it is easy enough to make one.

It vastly reduces noise from the mixer, but I am not sure what other effects there might be, 
since although I have several of the adapters where (one of which I could send you), I have 
never yet had an occasion to use one. It is a direct plug-in replacement for the 12K8, but 
does need a couple of easily-reversible mods to the HFO section: two resistors must be 
changed.

As I remember it, it uses a 12AT7. I can send you one of those too if you don't have one.
